The Plateau des Glières and the Morette site are managed, looked after and events are organised by the Département de la Haute-Savoie. They can be visited at the same time: allow 1 hour’s drive between the two sites.
THE GLIÈRES MAQUIS HISTORY

The Glières maquis historical trail: In the centre of the Plateau des Glières, a historical trail retraces the Glières maquis’ history and organisation during the winter of 1944.

Celebrating the Glières legacy. The National Monument for the Resistance
Built in 1973 on the initiative of the Glières survivors and designed by artist Émile Gilioli, the monument pays tribute to the Glières maquis and the 465 men who gathered on the plateau during the winter of 1944 to collect the weapons parachuted by the allies.
