English version
The Château de Clermont is a rare example of Renaissance architecture in the former Duchy of Savoy and is a listed historic monument. In the 16th century, after a successful career in Rome, Bishop Galeazzo Gegald, (Gallois de Regard) commissioned the construction of this pleasure residence with its monumental façade and interior galleries. A little higher up the hill, archaeologists are in the process of excavating a long-hidden medieval castle.
SELF-GUIDED TOUR
Free visitor booklets for adults and children are available at the reception.
